Additional Solar Maintenance Services
Solar Panel Cleaning
Panels don’t usually need cleaning, but if they happen to get particularly soiled give us a call or follow these tips to clean them yourself. First, don’t use any harsh cleaning chemicals. Even glass cleaners are not suggested. If you need a little extra kick add a little dish soap to your cleaning water. Second, DO NOT use cool or cold water to clean your panels. The glass on the panels is going to be hot, so cold or even cool water could potentially cause your glass to crack due to the drastic temperature change. Third, don’t scrub the panels with abrasive materials. The glass can be scratched and that’s not what you want. Last of all, be safe. If there’s anything you don’t feel comfortable with, that’s why we’re here.
Critter guard
One issue we occasionally come across is system damage from critters. The culprit is usually squirrels, but it could also be other animals like birds. Luckily there’s a solution commonly known as critter guard. We install a mesh wire around the outer edge of the solar array to keep unwanted critters out from under the panels where they can do damage. If you live in an area with trees and creatures, it may be something worth looking into. Preventing critter damage before it happens can save you from some pretty serious and expensive issues.
Inverter Replacement
Inverters are the most common point of failure in a solar array and also one of the most critical parts. If you’re having trouble getting in touch with your original installer and you need an inverter replaced we can help. We can help you file a warranty claim with the manufacturer and install your replacement. We can get you back up and running so your investment can go back to work for you.
Solar Panel Monitoring
Have an older system? When you bought your solar panels did you opt for no monitoring service? If you’re wishing that you had monitoring but don’t, we have a solution.
